I've paid the band and I'm now ready to dance. I'm so ready for a summer of adventure and fun. My body is telling me that more than one gear and suspension is good for the soul and of course...said body. This bike covers everything I want. However, S24O's may be a challenge unless I go really ultra light. Definitely doable if I get myself a custom frame bag from
Revelate Designs. I may also be able to use
Salsa's Fargo fork or the
Enabler, but I would need to check on the specs.

I spent a lot of time going back and forth between the Vaya, Fargo, and the el Mariachi. What it came down to really was riding style, and the fact that I still wanted something that could handle some fairly technical single track. This will still do gravel and the frame is designed for longer rides.
My current singlespeed will remain that...However, I may also be changing the configuration on that as time goes by.

All of the above Bill, and more!! ;)
Enjoy!!
Salsa Bikes have caught my eye also, but as of right now, that's about all I can do, is look!!
Until momma gets a bike that is, then WATCHOUT!! Lol
Peace
Looking forward to seeing pics of the new ride... and interested to see if/how the drop-bar Redline changes. Congrats on the new ride!
I think I am going to pull the trigger on an El Mariachi frame and Fargo fork in a couple weeks. Would love to see pictures of your build, especially if you have frame bags and other bikepackingish gear on there. :D
Forgivenick ~ I purchased the complete bike as it is pictured. I have a large seat bag by Revelate Designs and will probably order a frame bag for it later this autumn. By the time I got the bike Eric from Revelate already had a twelve week wait time on custom bag orders.
I love how the bike rides especially on gravel. Somewhat disappointed with the quality of the paint job. It appears to get scratched very easily, but then again, it is a mountain bike.
I think ordering a frame and building from there is a good idea. It was really hard for me to beat the price on the complete bike so I went that route.
