Weekend of Hiking, Biking, and Relaxing

I don't even know where to begin trying to explain this weekend. Certainly not by boring anyone with a big long narrative about everything we did. The photos I believe say it all. So far I've spent a couple of hours just sitting here going through all of the photos we took and it is very hard to decide which ones to post. Today we spent our morning hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) and then the afternoon was spent mountain biking and relaxing over a dinner vegetarian chili and cold beer at the Gunflint Tavern. They have what I believe to be the best vegetarian chili around.

Oberg Mountain offer some of the best views on the North Shore.

Our afternoon mountain bike ride was fun and very relaxing.
My girl, who, by the way looks damn fine in that cycling outfit I got her.

Cross River and I think that guy on the bike is me. Hard to tell since I'm usually on the ground.

I can't think of a better way to end the summer. I'm already looking forward to our next trip up, but I'm not looking forward to going home tomorrow. If you really like the photos I'll try to post more on my next post. With school beginning soon I'm not sure how often I'll be keeping this up to date. It just takes too much time.

Looks like a fantastically beautiful relaxation area! Now I'm inspired to go off on my own little adventure to download the stress & regroup before the kids arrive!

If the weather holds out, we're kayaking on Friday. Not sure if we're hitting the river or Lake Michigan shore, but only if it's beach weather! Seems to be an early fall around here. brrrr! It's also Michigan Bike Fest weekend, we'll be running some silly games Saturday (link on my blog in the margin)! Sunday/Monday are open to whatever we desire. I need to find some remote area to chill for a while. I've officially spent entirely too much time at school during the past week! Good news: I'm a few hours away from being 100% ready! Yipppeee! I hope you're ready to roll too!? We have a union meeting in the morning = official end to summer vay-cay!
