Morning Observations

The following are some observations I've made over the past few weeks.
I generally get up at around 4:15 A.M., and Bella and I are walking by 4:30. Yup, that's awfully early.

I generally don't use an alarm. It comes naturally or Bella has her wet nose in my ear at
around this time.

My wife hates the fact that I get up at this time and even more, the fact that I am somewhat
perky at this time of day.

It's dark outside at 4:30 in the morning.

There are not many other people up at this time in the morning. At least not in my neighborhood.

The owls are back for some fall hunting. Hopefully the rabbits and squirrels that have been feeding in our garden and off our bird feeders all summer.

It's getting cooler.

I need to use my headlamp to pick up dog dookie. Yes, I'm a responsible pet owner.

Orion, Sirius, and Aldebaran are higher in the morning sky each day. A sure sign that....
winter is approaching.

Deneb has taken over Vega as the Zenith Star.

The song birds are much quieter than a month ago.

I love the wee hours of the morning.

It rained this morning and Bella and I got wet. It was nice.

I'm generally pretty tired by Friday, especially now that I am spending my days with my 5th grade students. They take an awful lot of energy.

I really love sunrises!

I love my coffee!

When I leave for school Patti is generally still sleeping and Bella is back in bed after our walk. They have it made.

I look forward to my colleagues coming to my room to greet me. The hugs are the best.

I love seeing my students come into the room with smiles and a greeting of, "Good morning Mr. V. How are you today?"
Our whole teaching manners program in 5th grade is working wonderfully well.

Wow..morning hugs by the colleagues? I'm going to bring this up at the next staff meeting. I have yet to get a morning hug in... 9 years!? Umm.. then again, I am NOT known as the morning person around my building. hahah

We're big huggers in our grade level and we often go out of our way to get that morning hug. What a great way to start the day.

A smile, a good morning greeting, and a hug.

Not to mention the fact that I'm Italian, and we Italians are notorious huggers.

What I love is you instantaneously watching the free entertainment in the sky. I was better at all of it when I could stay up later (meaning before children zapped my energy). Gotta love clear skies and no light pollution.
