The Agonizing Wait Begins...

And so it begins...the wait. This is the time of year every mountain biker around here waits for...am I in or not? What I'm referring to is the Chequamegon 40 mountain bike race. The "Big Dance".

Andy C. from TSH was kind enough to let us all know that he had received notice today that he was in. The rest of us immediately went on line to see if our checks had come through and so far mine has not. I guess this is just part of the ritual that we all go through each year.

If I don't get in...it's essay time. If you read this blog you know that I'm not much of a writer, so I'll have my work cut out for me. Ideas...I have a few going through my mind right now as I'm sure the rest of the amigos do.

Maybe I'll be making a trip to Michigan for Ore 2 Shore, but I shall remain optimistic. Time to check my account online to see if by chance my check came through. Maybe, just maybe...

I hope you make it in! I know about that kind of wait... I also know that each time you mention Cheq.. I hear that amusing little ditty that you posted to your blog last year performed by... ?? Your doc's family? .. hmm.. something like that! heheh Even G sings the song when I mention something about Cheq or he sees me reading your blog. Fascinating huh? :)

I have some thoughts on an essay, it will require more beer

One of our group's check got cashed yesterday. He's done the race for six years and decided to drag three of us Colorado riders out this year -- I'm excited for it! Now the decision -- single speed or gears?

Single, single, single. Great rolling course. Some sand, forest road, single track, and the Berkie XC Ski Trail.

One big climb...Fire Tower Hill. It gets pretty congested, but if you hit it at the right time.....

It's a good party!!!
