Echo Lake-Border Country

Well, our highly anticipated weekend up in "border country" has come and gone. Once again Mother Nature provided us with nothing but her best and we all new that "Dad" was definitely there in spirit.

After getting settled into the cabin and having a few cold ones fishing began in earnest. The bite was good but we still needed to work for the fish we caught. We were also treated to a little wind, some spectacular scenery, and of course some rain. It just wouldn't be a fishing trip with Vito, aka, "Black Cloud" without a little bit of rain.

The fishing was exceptionally good, but the Friday night fish fry was even better, thanks to our Brother-in-Law Dave. I believe we ate ourselves through nearly eight plus pounds of walleye and crappies. The stories of Dad's previous escapades were flowing and the laughter was plenty.

Our dinner feature for Saturday evening was Rigatoni pasta, with homemade sugo and meatballs served along with sweet Italian sausage. Dinner was phenomenally good and so was the vino and conversation.

 Thank you for everything dad...
You will be forever loved, remembered, and sadly missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was obviously well-loved, and has left a great legacy in the form of a wonderful family. Peace.
