No Sleep Tonight!

So, what does one do when one can't sleep? Well, you sit in your underwear and blog, do paperwork, and go for a run at 4:30 in the morning. Sorry, no porn on this blog, not even soft.
I've also been checking the updates for the Iditarod Invitational. I've been following Jill in Alaska and her friend Geoff. Jill is doing very well and if she maintains her pace could possibly set a new women's course record. Geoff was also performing extremely well, but unfortunately had to scratch due to an ankle injury. That's a real bummer considering the amoung of training he put in, but scratching was a good move on his part. I'll continue with this later.

It's later...Oh my God what a long day, but a good day. I really had fun with my students, despite being unable to speak coherently by 2 o'clock this afternoon. They all seemed to get a chuckle out of pain. After school my discussion with colleagues was also good and we did have some laughs. This has not been the case as of late. This isn't a work blog so I really don't want to get too into it. Our school has fallen on some very difficult times and admin. and teachers are all very stressed out. So...with that, I sit here tonight exhausted having a glass of wine and watching 300. So far I like it. Anyhoo I did get a run in this morning which was nice. Travis from Maple Grove Cycle called and said he has the components and has started working on the bike. The only problem, not really a problem, is that I can't use the SRAM cassette can't be used on the Shimano rear hub because of changes Shimano made. As Travis put it, "Shimano, creating tomorrow's cycling problems today." Anyway, I'm excited for the ride to be complete.

I'm now thinking about upgrading my other road bike and my Stumpjumper. This worries me because I'm starting to behave like and addict. So, I'm trying to focus on being a bit more realistic.

I continue to monitor the Iditarod Invitational and think about the possibility of doing the Arrowhead 135 next year. It amazes me that some people will put themselves through all that pain and suffering and call it fun. Part of me seeks the challenge because in some ways I do enjoy the pain and the suffering. Yet there is another part of me that says, "Don't do it, it's crazy."

I linked to you From Dougs blog and came over to say hello. Since there is no porn, I'll just move along. 8>)
