Lazy Weekend in Bayfield, WI

We just arrived home from a wonderfully lazy weekend in Bayfield, WI. No bikes, no hikes, no kayaking. Just a lot of relaxing, reading, dining, walking the town, and shopping at the local art fair. We purchased some items for the garden and Patti bought some jewelry and a piece of
pottery. What a great time.

A couple of our friends, Veronica and John, were staying up there for the week and they invited Patti and I to join them for some R & R over the weekend. We stayed at a place called The Winfield Inn, which sat on a hill overlooking the bay and Madeline Island. I would highly recommend it. Very comfortable and great view.

A couple restaurants to check out if you ever go to Bayfield are Maggie's and Wild Rice. Maggie's is just plain fun. Great food, fun atmosphere, and a lot of pink flamingos. Wild Rice on the other hand was very upscale, modern, pricey, but worth it. The architecture was also very interesting and the staff extremely friendly. Also, if you're into blown glass decor, they have some of the most interesting pieces I've ever seen.
Next time we go, there will be a good deal of biking and kayaking taking place. It's a great place to visit for a fun vacation.
