Preparing for the Holidays

This afternoon my brother Jeff, sister Gina, her boyfriend Jukka, and myself made 174 homemade ravioli. They now sit in our freezer awaiting Christmas. It's always been a family tradition to have homemade ravioli on the holidays. Oh man! I can hardly wait.We used a pasta maker and... also rolled the dough out by hand.Finishing touches before going out on the porch to firm up.Being good Italians we indulged ourselves while preparing our raviolis. We snacked and lunched on Sopressata and Genoa salami, dry cured Capocollo, provolone cheese, crackers, and some good Vienna bread. You simple cannot prepare fine Italian food without a glass of wine and of course some good music. The playlist included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, and some additional music for the holidays. All in all it was a wonderful afternoon.

All my family has to do now is to entrust me with keeping all those raviolis in our freezer. The temptation will be enormous!

Oh yum!! We have a local place where we buy homemade ravioli! I didn't think I lived ravioli until 2 years ago when I discovered this shop!
