2010...Off To A Great Start

It's been a hectic beginning to the year that lays ahead. Running, biking, entertaining family, great homemade food, good drink and so much to look forward to in 2010.
The trails at the park have been great for winter trail running of which I've done plenty in the past three days. The long shadows of winter spread their patterns on the surface of the snow and the cold arctic temps have arrived and look like they will be hanging around for awhile.
-17 F at 6 a.m. this morning lead me to really want to get out on the bike today and make some tracks in the snow.Tonight has more sub-zero temps in store and I'm planning a long run early in the morning follow by riding with Kenny in the studio at the health club. We don't call him "Fair Weather Kenny" for nothing.
In the meantime it's left overs, the fireplace, an appropriate beverage, and then reading "In A Far Country" and "To Build a Fire" by Jack London, followed by some Robert Service. How appropriate for a cold winter night.

Sounds so comfy... love the snowy shots. Are you on a lake? Our lakes have just hit the safe-ice depth.

Hi, I found your blog from following Jill Homer's blog. I wanted to comment on the recent post because the last part made me laugh - robert service is one of my favorites. But also, I felt compelled to write due to the beer photo (good motivation aye?) Could you tell me how you came across it, It looks good, is it just a local beer though?

Sara Jean,

The beer in the photo is brewed by New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins Colorado. Most of the liquor stores here in MN carry a few of their products.

Hey Bill,

I love "To Build a Fire" an excellent short story!

I also love beer, but you already knew that.

In the words of Homer Simpson: “Beer…my love for you will never die”
